Exercise is becoming more recognised as an integral part of the treatment process and Cancer Journey. Exercise Physiologists play a key role in providing safe, individualised exercise prescription before, during and after cancer treatment.

Exercise to address side effects of cancer treatment
Recent research has demonstrated that exercise has the ability to help ease side effects from cancer treatment.
These side effects may include:
Fatigue
Anaemia
Quality of life
Mood changes
Loss of muscle strength
Heart problems
Loss of bone strength
Lymphoedema
Reduce range of motion through affected areas (e.g. shoulders)
Poor balance and coordination
Peripheral neuropathy
Another side effect of cancer treatment includes low white cell count (neutropenia) which results in individuals becoming immunocompromised and at risk of developing infection. Having a mobile exercise physiologist come to you helps remove the unnecessary exposure to public spaces such as gyms and swimming pools and enables the delivery of individualised exercise programs within the home.
