OUR RESPONSE TO COVID-19

Accelerate Exercise Physiology  is taking the safety of our clients and staff seriously in regard to COVID-19. We are keeping up-to-date with Governmental advice in relation to providing healthcare services and following the latest recommendations.

In response to the latest advice by the NSW Government, we will be now taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of our staff and patients.

Currently all staff who show any flu-like symptoms are being told to be tested for Covid-19 and to take sick leave until all symptoms have cleared and a negative test result has come back. For additional safety our staff are required to obtain a medical certificate stating they are safe to return to work.

Accelerate Exercise Physiology has increased the standards on infection control with a strong focus on good hand hygiene and wearing of masks. Staff have access to appropriate PPE (face masks, gloves etc.) for use according to governmental guidelines. Staff have been provided hand sanitiser and disinfectant wipes for use when providing mobile services. All patients will have access to hand sanitiser via our therapists during mobile home visits and will hand sanitise on entry.  Patients are not required to wear a face mask at this time due to difficulty in performing exercise whilst wearing a mask. Whilst it is difficult to remain 1.5m distance during exercise sessions, staff may use these at their discretion.

Accelerate Exercise Physiology is screening all clients and their primary caregivers with whom our staff may come in contact for any flu-like symptoms, recent testing for Covid-19 or overseas travel and will reschedule appointments to a suitable time if any risk presents itself. Patients must complete a COVID screening questionnaire prior to consultations. This may be presented to the patient in a written/electronic form via email or SMS message.

We are keen to continue to support all of our clients in maintaining optimal health and function during this period of uncertainty. We have now developed the option for Telehealth – the use of video-conferencing technology to be able to deliver remote therapy services to clients.  For those keen to self-isolate, minimise risk of infection or are unwell, we invite you to call your current therapist to discuss the option of Telehealth.

We continue to monitor and adapt to ongoing governmental advice and remain focused on maintaining our client’s health and function during this time.
